While weddings are always joyous occasions, for a wedding planner who truly loves her clients it's bittersweet because a wedding marks the last day that we will work with an amazing couple in creating their wedding. It is for this very reason that we always tear up at weddings (and sometimes also while we write blog post recaps. *sniff*.)
It's a complicated set of emotions that one goes through as a wedding planner - happiness and joy at seeing a beautiful couple go through an amazing rite of passage and enter into a new life together, mixed with the excitement of coordinating a wedding day, and then of course the sadness at realizing that you will not see their emails, phone calls, text messages or beautiful faces nearly as often as you did while planning together for a year+.
If you're ever as lucky I was to meet two people like Anna and Stef in the course of your career, you know you've struck gold. These two women were full of such amazing life, energy, happiness, humor and honesty that every planning meeting came with the feeling of catching up with two close friends. From pouring through menu items from East Coast Grill (over beer,) to creating the perfect audio experience and playlist with DJ Kevin Neary (over beer) to making sure that photographer Kelly Benevuto understood all of the family and friend relationships going into the wedding day (over coffee?) this wasn't just a "wedding planning experience," this was a wonderful adventure.
Anna and Stef, we're so grateful to you for allowing us to join you on this adventure. We only wish we could keep on planning this gorgeous wedding! Congratulations and so much love to you both!
