Look at these two: adorable, hilarious and unaplogetically doing their own thing. From the day that we began planning together there was only one rule that Becca and Dan instituted regarding their wedding: "We're going to do this our way."
From a gorgeous cocktail-length wedding dress, to mandatory hot meatballs served precisely at "meatball o'clock," to stuffed chicken used as an inside joke/decor (so many chickens.....I was warned.) There is no better rule when wedding planning. Every single decision that you make when planning should be a reflection of who you are as a couple, where you've come from and where you're headed together. That's it. That's the secret to planning a perfect wedding.
So what does a perfect wedding look like? Ridiculously good food, in this case, comfort food from Off The Vine Catering. A super highly-personalized ceremony delivered by your siblings. A jam-packed dance floor that didn't let up until the wedding was over and the After Party was set to begin. A series of stuffed chickens and inside family jokes that carried through the night. Incredibly fun, loving, kind and hilarious family members and guests who brought a sense of love and support that makes you feel very much alive. And two badass people getting married.
As a wedding planner, you see a number of weddings every year and no two are ever the same. But when you see such an amazing, unapologetic couple having a super funky, unique wedding day that is perfect in every single way, you kind of want to shout from the sidelines "F*CK YES! THIS IS HOW YOU PLAN A WEDDING! DO IT YOUR OWN WAY!"
It also didn't hurt to have some of our favorite vendors by our side making the day that much more awesome. Veracious Productions and Alexandra Roberts Photography are just the best in every way. DJ Greg Gates was incredibly in tune to everything that this fantastic crowd wanted to hear and kept that dance floor bumping all night. And Arlington Town Hall provided the best "hidden gem" backdrop for this amazing day.
Thanks so, so much to Becca and Dan for being so fun and so awesome throughout the planning process. Planning over beer at Brick and Mortar is one of my favorite ways to wedding plan. And special thanks to our wonderful brides Anna and Stef for sending Becca and Dan our way. We're so, so grateful to have such amazing clients by our side.
