Jennifer: We just finished moving out of state but we bought a wine barrel for guests to sign. What do I do with it until the wedding?
Me: Ship it to me!
Cut to UPS delivering a wine barrel to my front porch and my condo neighbors seriously considering an intervention. But I'm getting ahead of myself.
One of my all-time favorite clients called one day to tell me that he was sending a new couple my way. "They're awesome," he said. "You're going to love them!" And thus I was introduced to Jennifer and Barak, who have since made their own way into my all-time favorite clients list.
Barak asked Jennifer to go on a date with him a few years earlier. She politely declined. Barak asked again. Again she declined. Barak asked 4 more times, each time turned up a "no." Finally he said "this is the last time I'm going to ask you out, and if you say no, I promise not to ask again."
Finally she said yes. And their first date in Fort Point, walking around the beautiful harbor, turned into a beautiful relationship and finally, an engagement.
Jennifer, an ACTUAL little ball of sunshine and laughter, and Barak, warm and kind, approached wedding planning with gusto! The ceremony took place at St. Mary of the Assumption in Brookline and Boston Harbor Hotel set the stage for an amazing reception. We cruised around town in a vintage trolley as Jason and Emily Kan snapped photos of the bridal party. And yes, we did have a vintage wine barrel shipped from California that served as the best guest book of all time!
Bright pops of color were the rule of the day. Sweet Annie Floral created a 50' garland of greenery and florals for a head table, and draped garlands of greenery around the room. Soft gold uplighting brought warmth to the room on this cool November day, and once DJ Nixx started her set, not one person left the dance floor.
What do you do when your bustle ribbon breaks as you're about to be introduced? Water off your back. You let your wedding planner use the only thing in reach - industrial strength alligator clips - to clip you up and you're on your way. (See alligator clip photo below.)
This wedding was the perfect way to end our 2016 season. To have the opportunity to work with such incredibly happy, kind, fun and creative clients is a dream. To Jennifer and Barak - Mazel Tov and all of the hugs in the world! Thank you for making this such an amazing Boston wedding planning adventure.
