"We don't want to plan a wedding, we would just like to be married." - the first thing that Justin and Lindsey said to me during our first meeting together.
What they meant was: We don't want hassle and headaches. We don't want to feel pressured to make ridiculous decisions about minor details that we just don't care about. We don't want to feel like we're giving our lives over to the three-ring circus that wedding planning looks to be. We're in love and we just want to be married."
And in looking back on our planning experience, my memories include lots of laughter, lots of honest conversation about what mattered most to them, lost of sharing of opinions and ideas, and more laughter. (Did I mention that they both have the most infectious laughter you've ever heard?)
Stonehurst set the scene for a beautiful and laid-back wedding space. The grounds and building are naturally gorgeous, thus we needed very little decor. (Easy!) Cuisine Chez Vous made the catering process effortless with delicious food and amazing service. Alcohol (a top priority!) was a no-brainer (Veuve Cliquot, Veuve Cliquot, more Veuve Cliquot...) DJ Michael O'Neill crafted a sick playlist that reflected all of their favorite music, and Silver and Salt Photography captured every moment of laughter and happy tears throughout the day.
And as we whittled down these decisions one at a time, focusing our energy only on elements that mattered to them, the long road of wedding planning was taken one step at a time, and in the blink of an eye we arrived at their wedding day.
Lindsey and Justin - thank you for putting your faith in me and for letting me be a part of your wedding planning journey. I hope that the hassle of planning was far less than the happiness of the day that you arrived at. It was truly an honor planning with you - you made my job far too easy. Lindsey, if you ever want to stop by to finally have that bridezilla moment that you were sure you would have [but that never came,] you are more than welcome. Much love and all of the happiness in the world to you both.
